Experiencing U street

Standing before me I saw different colored houses aliened throughout the streets of Washington. Before me stood Ben's Chili Bowl, one of he most famous fast food restaurants around town. In front of the restaurant stood a colorful bear filled with what seemed like memories. Inside the crowded restaurant, stood the owner to show us around. The smell of Barbecue sauce and cheese fries
quickly spread from the kitchen to my nose, making me even hungrier. During lunch, the owner of the restaurant engaged  us on the history of the famous place. In 1958, the restaurant was founded. The vibe of the restaurant had me feeling anticipated and curious and what the food would be like. In, flew endless amount of customers and celebrities that raved about the place itself. After eating the flavorful food, we traveled in groups to explore the details of U street. Heading to Busboys Cafe and Poets, I was immediately drawn into the colorful atmosphere and sophisticated spacing between the library and the actual dinning area. The restaurant itself, was split into half library and half dinning, where locals came to do their work and pick up a book or two. Exploring more of the south area, I ran into Howard's college which was far away from the nicer neighborhood. It was interesting to see the different sides of the neighborhood.  Making my way back, I found myself enjoying the architecture of U street as well as the environment. Standing in front of Ben's Chills Bowl one last time, I said good bye to the great community and abstract life. Walking towards the train, I looked back one last time to see the vivid colors of the buildings and the friendly locals smiling back.
