Writing the Feelings

It's been 8 days since I first went to the Writing the City class this summer session. The first day was the one that really pushed me to learn whatever I could to improve my writing skills as a person. Everything we do in the class, everywhere we go, and everyone we meet has a significant impact on the way I see and analyze the world around me now. Who would have thought that I would have been someone writing this blog about the trip of the summer. But through all honesty, Writing the City is the perfect class for someone such as myself to take over the summer. Not only just the fantastic people you get to meet, but also the awe-inspiring locations that we get to visit. One thing that really stuck out was how every location provided a new look into detailed writing; whether it be a poem, free verse, Ekphrastic, or short essay. All these trips have meant something to me, and as the week winds down and we draw near the end of the session, the people I met and the places I explored will be remembered whenever I come to visit Washington DC, or the George Washington University in general.
