A morning in Union Station
My eyes scanned for the location we were headed for what seemed like an hour. Suddenly, a wall of statues looking directly at me, had caught my eye. "Welcome to Union Station. Observe the area for an hour and meet me in front of the entrance at 11:30 sharp" my teacher said. I looked around the exterior of the building with statues of people looking through the window. I glared at a statue and it gave me the same response, almost as if it was looking directly at me. The station seemed like a mall filled with stores and restaurants. I stood along trying to decide which way to go. Heading towards the tourist shop, I bought my family some souvenirs. Reaching the second floor, The station was covered with the strong smell of a turkey sub little cafes. The overall environment of the union station was friendly. People carried on conversations with the customers and kids from all around. My overall experience with the station wasn't anything special. The scenery itself was certainly one f a kind, but what was inside the station were cafes and stores that were found all around the world. The interior of the actual mall was simple and elegant but in certain areas, plain. The architecture of the statues and carved walls on the outside was what draws people into the station, which I had noticed.
