A Statue built behind a mountain has so much to say. A carved stone that is visited by millions of people every month has a purpose. A memorial dedicated to one person can generally be the most respect a person is given. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. which is the one of the civil rights activist that has a monument in America’s greatest city. Martin is honored daily by the expressions on people’s face when they see the statue, the smile in their face when they’re standing next to it. This statue can possibly be as important as the Abraham lincoln because without the mental strength of one gentleman, the nation wouldn’t be equal.

King once said “out of the mountain of despair. A stone of hope.” The saying of the king is used to be reflect life in present day as well. This is stating that even with all the troubles in the world, hope is priority. The statue created in August 11 opened for the people has a purpose for its location. The mountain is made in front of sculpted mountains to show power and determination. That monument extremely close to one of the most famous presidents in the United States shows the equality and respect he has from the people of the United States. People from other countries come to the United States flattered to see the beautiful statue created to honor the man that shaped this world.

Standing where he stood to say a speech that impressed the whole world, a speech that surprised the whole nation, a speech that had half of the United States motivated that life was actually going to change is a right that no one should be able to get. In the lincoln memorial are MLK’s foot steps when he stood there during the “I have a Dream” speech. Through the people's eyes they saw a great brave men talking about what he wanted in this world but in their hearts they did not believe in him. They did not believe that one speech can make a change. In 1963 a change was made and until this day the change has remained.

1963 should be a year of glory. There should be more than monuments giving to the great and peaceful men. Through the people’s eyes they saw a crowd of people choosing to believe in  Martin Luther king but what was most important was what Martin Luther king was looking at. He was looking thousands of people supporting him on a hot summer day. He was looking at people that have hope in him and that powerful monument of the washington. That monument gave him pride and faith in the movement. His eyes were bright and he was not going to pass away in peace until his dream was not complete. An american dream was the total opposite of that Martin Luther king’s dream was.
