Speaking to the Phillips Collection

Sitting here. Waiting. Waiting for something. Waiting. Sitting waiting for something. Someone. Waiting for something to happen. What are you waiting for? Waiting for something to change what is happening. Nothing's happening. That's why you are waiting. Waiting, on the hillside, with your friends and family. They seem to be having a good time. But, not all of them are family. Others are travelers, writers, painters, and beggars. Either way, they're here for the same reason you're here. The view. The view of the lake. Everyone loves the lake. Lake Albano. It's most popular this time of year. The spring. Or was it summer? You don't remember. Definitely one of the two. Anyway, back to waiting. Back to doing what you have been doing. Why are you waiting? You're waiting because nothing is happening. Then make something happen. Why don't you go climb that tree? Oh, never mind. It's too tall. Too thin. Ok, then. Then I'll just go back to waiting.
