The painting Luncheon of the Boating Party is the art piece that I observed in the Phillips art museum. It was created by the famous french artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir. I was drawn to it because of how detailed and interact it was, not just in the foreground but in the background as well. It is a master piece in many senses and has received wide exclaim for its beauty and it's wonderful displays of what was (at the time) new modern day France. It shows the rise of the new middle class witch for the first time was becoming a common occurrence in France. He shows in this picture many famous people at the beginning of there careers and it shows how these famous people were once ordinarily people who had no idea of the bright future ahead of them.
The painting was done in France by a man who tried to show the world how it was changing into a better place were people can have an enjoyable life even if they were not fabulously wealthy. He won the contest he entered it in and it is still widely known and considered his best piece because of that special belief that all people can achieve that happiness with friends and loved ones around them. This belief and in turn this painting will last forever as it is the idea of happiness that all humans strive towards and that's why it will never leave this earth as as long as there is someone who loves, laughs, and hopes there will be places filled with those same emotions shown beautifully in this picture
